Women’s Health
Women’s Health services are available to patients of Little River Medical Center. We have a specialized team of providers dedicated to promoting the well-being of women of all ages. This compassionate team can provide a range of low-cost and affordable medical and complementary health services specially designed to improve women’s health.
Our health services for women include:
- Family Planning & birth control
- Screening PAP smears
- Pelvic exams & ultrasounds
- Breast exams
- Digital Mammography and Diagnostic Referrals
- STI screening and treatment
- Reproductive Health
- HIV/AIDs care
- Appropriate specialty referrals when indicated
Our women’s health team partners with Best Chance Network to help eligible women receive free breast and cervical screenings.
Covered services include but are not limited to:
- Free and low-cost birth control options available at all six sites
- Clinical breast examinations
- Mammograms
- Pap tests
- Pelvic examinations
- Human papillomavirus (HPV) tests
- Diagnostic testing if results are abnormal
- Referrals to treatment
To qualify for Best Chance Network:
- Must live in South Carolina
- Ages 21 to 64-years old for cervical cancer screening
- Ages 40 – 64 years old for breast cancer screenings
- Women younger than 40 who may have breast or cervical cancer symptoms may be screened if funding available
- Women with high family risk of breast or cervical cancer may be screened if funding available
- Uninsured or are underinsured (minimal insurance)
- Have deductibles (out of pocket expenses) of $1,000 or higher
- Have insurance that does not cover diagnostic services
- Meet income eligibility guidelines
