Reach Out and Read
Reading aloud is the most important thing you can do to foster your child’s intellectual and language development. Reading to your child from infancy on is an essential part of a healthy childhood and it establishes a strong foundation for a lifetime of learning.
Our providers incorporate literacy development into their routine pediatric care. They have been specially trained by Reach Out and Read, a nationally recognized program promoting childhood literacy.
At routine well-child checks from infancy through 5 years, our providers:
- Will encourage you to read aloud to your child
- Demonstrate how to look at books and share the stories in an age-appropriate manner
- Provide education on ways to build daily routines around books
- Give your child a new book to take home and keep
At the end of the program, your child has a home library of books so that you, their first and most important teacher, can continue to support their development and provide a foundation for their future success.
We accept most insurance plans, including:
- Medicare
- Medicaid
- Private or commercial plans
- ACA or Healthcare Marketplace plans
