Little River Medical Center offers a program that reduces the cost of care for uninsured patients or can be applied to insurance deductibles for patients with insurance. These discounts are based on family size and income.
If you are applying for the sliding fee program, please be certain to bring the necessary documentation. Following are forms of acceptable documentation:
- Current pay stub, preferably 2-3 consecutive paychecks
- Bank statements showing automatic gross income deposits
- The most current federal tax returns. If self-employed, a business income tax return with the appropriate additional tax schedule worksheet.
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) documents that provide family size and income
- Statement from employer
- Documentation showing additional income from alimony or child support.
- Current Unemployment Benefits statement
- Workers Compensation showing last several weeks of income
- Social Security Income (SSI)
- Disability or SSI Benefits Letter
- Letter of Support from Charitable Organization
Once qualified, discounts will apply for 12 months. To continue receiving a discount you will need to complete a new application and provide current proof of income documentation annually.
Patients will be asked to pay a fee at the time of the visit, which will vary depending on your sliding fee eligibility, insurance co-pays and the outcome of your appointment. Payment can be made by:
- Cash
- Credit card or debit card (Mastercard or Visa)
- Personal checks for the date of service
LRMC does contract with outside laboratory and radiology services. You may receive a separate bill for these services.
As a community health center, LRMC accepts all Medicare and Medicaid insurance plans as well as most major insurance. To find out if your LRMC provider is considered in-network, it is best to contact your insurance provider directly.
No one will be denied access to services at Little River Medical Center, as services are offered regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.
