The program balances high-volume clinical exposure with personalized mentorship, ensuring residents develop advanced clinical skills while maintaining a strong work-life balance in a vibrant coastal community.
LRMC’s partnership with MUSC provides an enhanced academic environment. The GPR Program blends LRMC’s mission-driven, community-based training with MUSC’s academic excellence, creating a unique residency experience that combines clinical rigor with innovation and research.
Sites:
- Carolina Forest Health Center – The main residency clinic, equipped with state-of-the-art technology including CBCT imaging and digital scanners, serving as the hub for comprehensive general dentistry training.
- Little River Health Center – Provides opportunities to deliver community-based dental services with a focus on underserved and diverse populations.
- Mobile Dental Unit (Miles for Smiles) – Extends care directly to schools, Head Start programs, and rural areas across South Carolina, offering residents real-world outreach experience and reinforcing the mission of bringing healthcare to those who need it most.
