Curriculum & Didactics
LRMC’s GPR curriculum pairs 120 hours of didactic education with intensive clinical training, simulation-based learning and active participation in case presentations and journal discussions. Every piece of the curriculum is designed to build clinical confidence and sharpen decision-making.
Didactic Education
- 120 lecture hours covering evidence-based dentistry, case management and advanced clinical topics
- Grand rounds and journal clubs for peer learning and critical thinking
- Regular case presentations and clinical discussions with faculty
- Ethics and professional development training
- Practice management and quality improvement instruction
Simulation & Technology
- Implant and periodontal simulation training
- Oral pathology education with case-based learning
- Simulation lab experience for procedural skill development
- CBCT imaging and digital scanner use at the Carolina Forest Health Center
- Access to current dental literature and academic resources
Program Structure
- 3 residents per year — small cohort for individualized attention
- 12-month program integrating didactics, clinical care and community outreach
- Supported by a dedicated team including program director, administrator and faculty mentors
Support Team
Residents are supported by a full program team, including a Program Director, Administrator and a faculty group that spans general dentistry, oral surgery, periodontics, endodontics, restorative dentistry and more.
