Women have unique health needs and we provide services that meet the gynecological health needs of women at most stages of their life. Our medical practices provide routine pelvic examinations, pap smears, colposcopy, screening and treatment for gynecological infections, family planning, and menopausal services. On-site digital mammography is available at our Little River location.
Screenings to detect cancers early provide a greater opportunity for effective treatment and survival rate. In partnership with Best Chance, we are able to offer breast and cervical cancer screenings and diagnostic exams to eligible women who otherwise may not be able to afford such services. We are able provide these screenings and exams to women who meet certain age and income guidelines.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death for American women every year. In partnership with WISE Women, we are able to offer special health screenings and lifestyle education are offered to age and income qualified women to reduce their risk for heart disease and stroke. The program is intended to improve diet, physical activity and other lifestyle behaviors to prevent, delay and control cardiovascular and other chronic diseases.

Teens face a number of barriers to accessing quality reproductive health care services, including lack of knowledge about places in the community where they can access reproductive health care as well as questions about their rights, privacy, and confidentiality. LRMC provides confidential services for teens including pregnancy testing and counseling, birth control, STD testing and treatment, HIV testing and counseling.
Early Intervention HIV / AIDS Clinic
Primary medical care is available for patients living with HIV/AIDS. While our focus is on the prevention of illness and management of chronic conditions, we also provide HIV-specific health services. Medical care is provided by a specially trained infectious disease physician and nurse practitioner. A case manager is also available to provide support and assist with ongoing health and social issues. Our team of medical professionals adheres to the highest standards of confidentiality. Seasonal and migrant farm workers are faced with a number of barriers to accessing health care. For many years, LRMC has helped reduce these barriers for hundreds of migrant workers and their families by providing health services at an after-hours clinic. LRMC’s bi-lingual physician and staff are sensitive to the particular needs of this diverse population. The clinic is held at our Loris location on Thursday evenings from 6pm to 9pm.
LMRC’s behavioral health professionals can assist you or your family member through difficult times. They can provide the support you need in a caring and confidential environment. Behavioral health appointments can be scheduled at any of our sites conveniently located throughout Horry County.
Little River and Myrtle Beach locations
According to the National Institutes of Health, tooth decay remains the most prevalent chronic disease in both children and adults even though it is largely preventable. In fact, more and more studies link good dental health with good overall health. LRMC’s team of highly qualified dental professionals can provide a full spectrum of adult and pediatric quality dental services. Our dental services include:

Miles For Smiles Mobile Dental Services
To make your child’s visit to the dentist as easy as possible, we also offer a mobile school-based dental service, Miles for Smiles. For the convenience of our patients, pharmacy services are available at our Myrtle Beach and Little River sites. The pharmacy is open at both locations Monday-Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. to noon and 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The pharmacy is closed on weekends and holidays. The Healthy Steps specialists focus on the importance of a child’s first years of life. They specialize in child development and help parents address issues such as crying, toilet training, sleeping, and discipline. Parents participating in the Healthy Steps program can select from a variety of available services:
- Free educational materials on every stage of your child’s development and growth
- Optional home visits when your child is one month old, 9 months, 1, 1 ½, 2 and 2 ½ years old
- A Healthy Steps specialists at many well-baby checkups
- Free books offered by Reach Out and Read which promote reading for young children
- Newsletters providing information on illness prevention, safety measures and helpful community resources
- Referrals to any needed children’s specialists
- Useful gifts at each home visit
The program also aims to improve the relationships between parents and children, between parents and pediatric practices, and between pediatric practice members
